Nitrogen (N₂) is an inert gas that is used to displace oxygen – a common cause of premature wine spoilage. Nitrogen has the ability to extend the shelf life of food and beverages while helping to maintain distinct flavours, aroma and appearance.

The Nitrovin has been developed specifically for wine making. It converts the air that we breathe into a pure supply of nitrogen gas that can be used for anything from wine transfer and filtration to bottle purging and barrel storage.

This nitrogen generator package includes an air compressor, refrigerated dryer, filtration system, and a PSA nitrogen generator system. Already pre-commissioned, the Nitrovin is a turnkey solution that delivers a cost-effective and reliable supply of on-site nitrogen gas. Simply plug it in and you're ready-to-go!

How the Nitrovin works

All components of the Nitrovin work together to deliver a pure supply of nitrogen gas for your winery.

  1. Compressed air supply: A permanent magnet rotary screw air compressor first produces an efficient compressed air supply which is regulated by speed control, to match the changing user consumption.
  2. Filtration: The compressed air passes through a refrigerated dryer via a pre-filter, which separates out the moisture. The compressed air then passes through coalescing filters to separate out all unwanted oil and particle contaminants down to 0.01 microns.
  3. Nitrogen generation: This very dry and clean compressed air is then supplied to the nitrogen generator which uses Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) technology to remove unwanted oxygen and gaseous contaminants, by passing it through a Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS). The contaminant gases are vented out to the atmosphere and the now pure nitrogen gas supply passes through a storage vessel before being discharged for use at site.
