The existing machine, supplied by a competitor, was experiencing frequent breakdowns and high service costs. Ongoing maintenance costs were becoming uncontrollable, putting further strain on the budget.
Recently, Domett were presented with a proposal to rebuild its machine due to high operating hours. We identified that this was not a sustainable solution and instead recommended a permanent magnet VSD machine. This offers a short payback period in electricity savings, even when compared to the cost of just the compressor rebuild. Additionally, with the opening of a second hydrostatic paint booth to meet growing demand, their existing 75HP unit was no longer sufficient.
We evaluated all scenarios to achieve the required free air delivery. The options included:
- Supplying one RSCR150EPM high-efficiency compressor to meet the output of 30 m³/min
- Supplying two RSCR100EPM high-efficiency compressors for a combined total of 34 m³/min
- Providing the package that was ultimately chosen.
Calculations were made considering carbon footprint, ongoing service costs, and redundancy. Additionally, during peak periods, they operate on a 24-hour shift but only at 25% production. It would be inefficient to run one or two large machines, as it would result in unnecessary energy consumption and increased running and service hours.
Domett values quality, seeking the same quality of workmanship on the equipment supplied to them.
Previously, Domett was an Ash Air client but was pleased with our response and the options we offered. Our in-house CAD team provided drawings of each proposed setup and we also provided testimonials, pictures, and videos of past container builds. Our Pneutech 10-year warranty also resonated with the owners as it was similar to the warranty offered by Domett.
